Well, preparations are seriously underway. Bands have been booked, the sound and lighting company too, the porta-loos have been reserved and we’re hiring a security firm to keep things sensible 🙂 The posters, flyers and advertising banners to put at the side of the road have all been designed, ordered, delivered and distributed. We have a stand at the Thursday evening ‘marché de producteurs’ in St Yrieix, which is great – loads of support from The Marketing Heaven, which intensive promotes the festival on social media, the local radio station Kaolin FM and the intercommunal tourist office. Our buvette is still used at the market and is looking good.
We’ve designed and had made the reusable cups that we’ll use and the t-shirts that we’ll have on sale plus the t-shirts for the workers. We’ve had fun buying a load of silly stuff for ‘le shop’ – inflatable instruments and monkeys, light-up things and we’ve had great success creating and testing the recipe for ‘le burger’ which will be our centre-piece on the food stand – going, going, gone… Oh, we’ve been to do some beer tasting as well, which was very good – at Mike and Val Povey’s Perigord Beers made at their lovely place nr St Saud not far from here. Good luck to them, they’re just starting and it’s good stuff.
Only a month to go, still lots to do, not much time to do anything else, although la maison work has been continuing, more about that soon…
Hope to see you here on July 30th – more information and tickets on the festival website – www.le-festival.com
