While some of us were gadding about on our holidays, a lot of hard work was going on back at base. In connection with the changes we want to make to the lake are the changes we are now obliged to make by law. A big thing is to create a space behind the dam called a bassin de decantation, which is somewhere for the water that leaves the lake, as we drain it down slowly, to let go of all the sediment that it is carrying. Quite a big job as you can see in the photographs. When it had all settled down a bit and dried out, we went round and scattered (very professionally as you can see, cough, cough) a sack of grass seed.
