A little outing for the end of the year to Arcachon on the west coast. A magnificently sunny, warm day to spend at the seaside. It takes about 3 hours to drive there and we left in time for a stroll and a go on the big wheel before lunch. The afternoon was spent on the Dune du Pilat, the impressive sand dune south of the Bay of Arcachon. There were a surprising number of people there all enjoying the same things as us and gave the day a real holiday atmosphere.
On the way home we stopped off for a drink at Libourne, a smart little Bordelais town with its Christmas decorations and market. Not a bad little outing all round.
