A quick trip over to old haunts in the Alps, saw us meet up with old friends and enjoy the sunshine and fresh snow. A couple of halves of Guinness in the Av. and the odd falafel wrap and home made burger in the Hors Piste and we were sorted. Châtel is on very good form and growing by the day, still a great place to go for a traditional French skiing holiday – see their website here www.chatel.com or on Facebook @LoisirsChatel
Plus we still love our old La Chapelle d’Abondance and the Fer Rouge pub (also on Facebook) and Les Cornettes restaurant are well worth a visit.
As we were saying goodbye to Chris and Coral at their lovely, cosy, family chalet in Châtel – book it at Snow Travel – the snow was lying in a gloriously thick blanket over everything, hanging heavy on the boughs of the pines with the sound of the reversing beepers on the nearby snowploughs busy on their clearing rounds. A good send off! 🙂
