we did that ourselves. Everything you see on the website including the logo and photographs have been created by us here at la maison. The website is using WordPress and Virtue from Kadence themes (to be recommended).
are the items for sale in your shop guaranteed?
All the items in the vintage section are old! and as such show some signs of age, we hope to provide clear photographs and an accurate description so that you know exactly what you are buying and therefore we don’t accept returns on these items. However, we do stand by our handmade products and are willing to discuss anything that you are unhappy about, please contact us for more information. Please note that we don’t offer refunds and are not able to cancel an order after it has been placed.
where do you deliver?
We deliver worldwide, if we can get it to you we will. There may be additional delivery costs for large items and very out of the way places where the cost will naturally be higher.
how do you work out delivery costs?
All delivery charges are worked out according to the weight and destination of the item to be shipped. We use ‘La Poste’ – the French Postal service and either their ‘paquet prioritatire’ or ‘colissimo’ service. They take parcels up to 30kg which covers pretty much everything we have for sale. Costs are worked out when you enter your delivery address details and are added to the price of the goods at the checkout. Contact us for more info.
why do delivery costs seem so high?
That’s partly how much the post costs these days and also because we use the service R1 which insures the merchandise. Therefore if the parcel is lost and never arrives with you, there is a value to be claimed back. If you would rather take the risk and pay less, this can be arranged – just let us know (eg a small basket costs 12 Euros our way and 8 Euros without insurance. Postage to countries outside the EU is higher and requires a customs declaration.
can we come and view an item?
Yes, if you are in the local area feel free to call by. If you want to be sure we are in, please phone to arrange a convenient time. The same goes for if you would like to collect something you have bought instead of arranging delivery.
how often do you change the items in your shop?
The shop gets updated when we have new products to add. There are handmade items that are continually available and there are products that are more one-offs and once they are sold they are gone (until the next time anyway!) Keep checking the website to see what’s available. Vintage items are usually one-offs, if there is something that we’ve had but has since been sold but that you would like, then let us know and we might be able to find another – it depends what it is.
do you have a privacy policy?
Yes, we will not pass on any information about you to a third party. Any details you give us regarding your name and address will only be used by us to complete your orders and enquiries.
what methods of payment do you accept?
You can pay using Paypal which also accepts credit cards if you do not have a Paypal account, just tick the box when redirected to the Paypal page.
